Major InfiniBand device and cable vendors conduct testing to gain inclusion on prestigious list of InfiniBand-compliant products

DURHAM, N.H. – April 13, 2009 – The InfiniBandSM Trade Association (IBTA), a global organization dedicated to maintaining and furthering the InfiniBand™ specification, today announced the 15th Compliance and Interoperability Plugfest. The Plugfest will take place April 20-24, 2009 in the University of New Hampshire’s Interoperability Lab. The event provides an opportunity for InfiniBand™ device and cable vendors to test their products for compliance with the InfiniBand architecture specification, as well as interoperability with other InfiniBand products.

This event will include testing of both double data rate (DDR) devices and quad data rate (QDR) devices. There are new test procedures for QDR active cables along with a new test procedure based on Wave Dispersion Penalty (WDP). This event will also include new interoperability test procedures for all cables. The Plugfest is open to all interested InfiniBand vendors. A special fee applies to non-IBTA Members. Vendors can register here.

Products that successfully pass the testing gain inclusion in the IBTA Integrators’ List. The Integrators’ List includes all products that have successfully completed the rigorous testing procedures at the IBTA-sponsored Plugfest events.  Over the past year, the list has grown from 36 products to 95 products as of the last Plugfest event in September 2008.

Vendors with products included in the Integrators’ List are eligible to use special “IBTA certified” logos in press releases, advertising materials and on actual products.

Vendors recently adding products to the IBTA Integrators’ List, per results at the last Plugfest in September 2008, include: Amphenol, Bay Microsystems, C&M Corporation, Cinch Connectors, Flextronics LTD, LSI Logic, Mellanox Technologies, Meritec, Molex, Obsidian Research, Panduit, QLogic, Tyco Electronics, W.L. Gore & Associates and Zarlink.

Following Plugfest: OpenFabrics Alliance’s 7th Interoperability Event Following the IBTA Plugfest, the OpenFabrics Alliance will be conducting their 7th Interoperability event from April 23-May 1. This session will focus on industry-wide interoperability using the OpenFabrics Alliance Software Stack. The event will now include testing in both Windows (WinOF) and Linux (OFED) environments. This event requires separate eligibility, cost, and registration.
