InfiniBand Trade Association (IBTA) has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for this website: www.infinibandta.org. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this Web site.

IP Address

We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our Web site. Your IP address is used to gather broad demographic information.

Registration Form

Our site’s registration form may require users to give us contact information (like their name and email address), financial information (like their credit card numbers), and demographic information (like their zip code or hotel preferences). We use user contact information from the registration form to send the user information about our organization. Membership information is used in accordance with the membership agreement and bylaws. The member’s contact information is also used to contact the visitor when necessary to contact you about membership status, participation in IBTA activities or working groups, events, or billing issues. A member’s name and email address is also available to all other members in a contact list in a password-protected area. Members control whether or not their name is displayed on this contact list through the membership settings. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings; see the choice/opt-out section below. Financial information that is collected is used to bill the user for products and services ordered. Demographic and profile data is also collected at our site. We use this data to determine where we should locate different events. Additionally, our members may be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

Mailing List

Visitors to our site may register for our mailing list by providing their contact information on our site. When you sign up to receive information from us, we only use that information with your consent to send you information about IBTA events, and news, including our semi-annual newsletter. You may unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time by emailing us at administration@infinibandta.org.

Our Business Partners

Our site is developed, hosted and maintained by a third party who has access to all information on this site. This “Powered by” partner is responsible for maintaining the privacy described in this statement. The third party retains no rights or privileges associated with the information (i.e. cannot distribute, sell, exchange the information collected.)

In addition, we work with third parties that provide administrative support for our business operations. These organizations has provided contractual guarantees to us that it will only use the information as need to provide the service, pursuant to our written instructions.

Order Form

Our site may use an order form for customers to request information, products, and services. We collect visitor’s contact information (like their email address), financial information (like their credit card numbers), and demographic information (like their zip code). Contact information from the order form is used to send orders to our customers. The user’s contact information is used to get in touch with the visitor when necessary for processing your order and to provide you status updates about your orders. Additionally we may require a customer to sign a license agreement.

This site makes forums, message boards, and/or news groups available to its users. The web site may have both “members only” (password-protected) forums and “non-members” forums. All credit card transactions are handled by a reputable third party banking and processing institution. They receive the information needed to verify and authorize a customer’s credit card and process the order.

Retention

Personal data that we collect about members will be retained for the duration of their membership, and afterward will be retained only as necessary to protect the intellectual property of our individual and organizational members.

We will retain records of any orders placed through this website in order to maintain records for legal and accounting purposes after which it will no longer be maintained in a personally identifiable form.

For visitors to our site that sign up for the mailing list, we will store that information for as long as you choose to remain on the mailing list.

Rights of European Union Residents

If you reside in the European Union, you have certain rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation in regards to your personal information. These rights include a right to access and receive a copy of the personal information that we have about you, the right to correct any inaccuracies in our records, to restrict our use of your personal data, and, in some circumstances, to have us delete or remove your personal information from our records. Our site provides users the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from us at the point where we request information about the visitor.

Members who are the individuals designated by their company as being in charge of the member company’s product may not opt out of product-related mailings, as receiving this information is an integral part of membership; such individuals should contact their member companies if they do not wish to serve in this role.

Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner.
