InfiniBand Trade Association Reaches Major Milestone With First Plugfest
June Event Expected to Draw Over 100 Representatives from Leading InfiniBand Developers
Palm Desert, Calif., April 10, 2001 - The InfiniBand Trade Association today announced its first Plugfest will be held June 5 - 7 in Milpitas, Ca. This event will allow multiple vendors to initiate testing of their InfiniBand products for compliance and interoperability. At this time more than 45 companies have announced plans to produce InfiniBand products.
"A key to the success of InfiniBand architecture is the assurance that products from different companies will seamlessly interoperate." said Dr. Tom Bradicich, co-chair of the InfiniBand Trade Association. "This Plugfest will help ensure end users that the InfiniBand products they employ will be compatible with one another and compliant to the InfiniBand specifications. In addition, member companies will be trained on the InfiniBand Trade Association's full compliance and interoperability program in order to better plan for product rollout starting later this year."
In addition to this Plugfest, the Trade Association is moving forward with its third developers conference, June 19 - 22 at the Wyndham Palace Resort & Spa in Lake Buena Vista, FL.
The Developer's Conference will feature a multi-day tutorial on the InfiniBand architecture specification by the primary architects of the technology and information about upcoming compliance and interoperability activities. This event will also include InfiniBand architecture related exhibits from more than 40 member companies. The Developer's Conference is open to members and the public.
Additional information about the upcoming Plugfest and Developers' Conference can be found on the InfiniBand Trade Association Web site or by calling the trade association at 503-291-2565.
