Thierry Albelda, technical architect and team leader for technology research and recommendations of IT infrastructure, France Telecom
Thierry Albelda is a technical architect in the Group Networks and Information Systems Division of France Telecom. He began his career at France Telecom S.A., joining the company in 1978 in the Customer division. He has a diverse technical and operational background. As business Owner Delegates, Mr. Albelda and his team are in charge of the technology watch and group-wide recommendations for infrastructure including servers, hardware and OS, virtualization technologies, databases, application servers, storage, workstation infrastructures and security monitoring tools.
As a next generation technology evangelist inside FT he introduced virtualization technologies to France Telecom. Mr. Albelda holds a degree in Computer Science from the Technology Institute of Toulouse (France).

Wayne Augsburger, vice president of business development, Mellanox
Wayne Augsburger has served as Mellanox's vice president of business development since April 2008. Previously, Mr. Augsburger served as Mellanox’s senior director of sales since 2006, and served as director of sales from 2000 to 2006. From January of 1997 until September of 2000, Mr. Augsburger served as VP of sales and marketing for Cygnet Storage Solutions, Inc., a manufacturer of automated archival storage systems. From May of 1993 until December of 1996, Mr. Augsburger served as VP of sales and marketing for Document Imaging Systems Corp., a developer of optical storage solutions. Mr. Augsburger earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from Southern Illinois University.

Simon Crosby

Simon Crosby, CTO, virtualization and management division, Citrix Systems
Simon Crosby was founder and CTO of XenSource prior to the acquisition of XenSource by Citrix. Previously, Mr. Crosby was a principal engineer at Intel where he led strategic research in distributed autonomic computing, platform security and trust. He was the founder of CPlane Inc., a network optimization software vendor, where he held a variety of executive roles. Prior to CPlane, Simon was a tenured faculty member at the University of Cambridge, UK, where he led research on network performance and control, and multimedia operating systems. He is author of over 35 research papers and patents on a number of datacenter and networking topics including security, network and server virtualization, resource optimization and performance. In 2007, Simon was awarded a coveted spot as one of InfoWorld’s Top 25 CTOs.

Kristof De Spiegeleer, CTO and founder, Q-layer
Kristof De Spiegeleer is the CTO and founder of Q-layer. Before founding Q-layer and A-Server, Mr. De Spiegeleer served as director of engineering at Symantec. In 2000, De Spiegeleer started his first company,
Hostbasket, Belgium's largest independent hosting provider. Later he founded Dedigate, which specializes in the delivery of Managed Dedicated Hosting services. Dedigate was acquired by Terremark in 2005 and now serves customers worldwide. His best-known startup, DataCenter Technologies created the product that is currently marketed by Symantec as PureDisk. NetBackup PureDisk is internationally recognized as the leading Data deduplication product for Datacenters. Mr. De Spiegeleer obtained his first datacenter experience at Netcom Solutions in 1994. Netcom was acquired by PSInet in 1996; at PSInet he soon grew to the position of director.
He holds a Masters degree in Engineering (University of Ghent, 1994) and a post-graduate degree in Business Management (University of Leuven, 2000).

Lloyd Dickman, CTO, InfiniBand Products, Host Solutions Group, QLogic
Lloyd Dickman is CTO for InfiniBand Product in QLogic’s Host Solutions Group. He was previously a Distinguished Architect at PathScale (acquired by QLogic), working on performance oriented interconnects. For many years, he headed the computer systems architecture and product planning groups at Amdahl where he directed the architecture and planning of several successful computer lines. Prior to that, he headed the computer systems architecture research group at DEC. His background includes work on instruction set design, multiprocessor structures, secure computing, virtual machine architectures, system software and VLSI design. He has held adjunct teaching positions at
Berkeley, Northwestern, San Francisco State, Lowell and Northeastern.

John Enck, managing vice president of research and IT infrastructure and operations, Gartner
John Enck is a managing vice president in Gartner Research, responsible for the IT Operations and Enterprise Management research at Gartner. This includes asset management, change management, configuration management and problem management, as well as desktop, server, application, network and database management. In his previous research role at Gartner, he focused on issues relating to x86-based servers, Microsoft server
OSs and LDAP directories. Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Enck was the technology and research director for Duke Communications, publisher of Windows NT Magazine and News/400. He has extensive networking and systems experience with a variety of mainframe, midrange and PC LAN systems and has authored more than a dozen commercial computer books. He has worked at Gartner for 10 years and has 33 years experience in the IT industry. Mr. Enck holds a B.A. in Computer Science and Communications from Antioch College.

Jacob Hall, chief architect, Wachovia Corporate and Investment Banking
Jacob Hall is the Chief Architect for Wachovia’s Corporate and Investment Banking division. In this role he helps to set technology direction and strategy in support of high performing low latency trading systems and other financial products and services. Previously, Mr. Hall was the Infrastructure Lead for XBond, an electronic bond trading web service. He has worked for several start ups where he provided consulting services to energy, healthcare, legal, supply chain and Wall Street firms. In prior roles he also served as an engineer and architect to the First Union Capital Markets Research and Development group. Mr. Hall has served as the CTO for a nationwide non-profit and has represented Wachovia as part of the Technology Advisory Council for the local Urban League. Mr. Hall graduated from

Yaron Haviv, chief technology officer, Voltaire
Yaron Haviv is Chief Technology Officer at Voltaire. Mr. Haviv is responsible for leading all technical initiatives with Voltaire’s business and technology partners and is an active participant in standard committees such as the IBTA, IETF and GGF. Mr. Haviv is responsible for the system architecture of Voltaire’s solutions and his deep expertise in computer, network and storage technology has resulted in complex system designs and patents.
Previously at Voltaire, Mr. Haviv served as vice president of research and development. In addition, he was the chief designer responsible for the system architecture of Voltaire's InfiniBand solutions. Prior to joining Voltaire, Mr. Haviv designed and developed hardware products at Scitex. Earlier in his career, Mr. Haviv was a software consultant responsible for analysis, design, implementation and deployment of data management software projects for various organizations, including government institutions.

Iddo Kadim

Iddo Kadim, director of virtualization technology, Intel’s Server Platform Group
Iddo Kadim is director of virtualization technology within Intel’s Server Platform’s Group. He has been with Intel since 1990. Mr. Kadim spent many of the years in the networking area, where he was responsible for the development of many client and server related networking and manageability products and technologies. Today he is responsible for marketing and ecosystem engagement activities related to Intel’s server virtualization technologies. Mr. Kadim has a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, and now lives in the Portland area.

Sharan Kalwani, global HPC architect and computing infrastructure manager, General Motors
Sharan Kalwani is a global HPC architect & computing infrastructure manager and tasked with continually prospecting and deploying HPC technologies toward meeting business goals in various engineering disciplines ranging from car design using CAE methods to pure R&D of future technologies. Since 1999, Mr. Kalwani has lead a team of over 21 technology professionals to manage a diverse HPC base, currently at 5500+ processors along with several hundred terabytes of storage, high speed local interconnects and a wide area network using dense fiber optics. Mr. Kalwani has over 25 years of experience in the supercomputing arena. He is a member of the IEEE Computer Society. He has a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Delhi College of Engineering-Delhi University, India and a Masters degree in Computer Science from Wayne State University-Detroit Michigan. He is also an active member in the IDC HPC User Forum.

He has 20 years of experience designing, implementing and supporting operating systems. Mr. Kohari's professional experience also includes Tru64 UNIX development/support at Digital Equipment corporation, and real-time kernel development at Concurrent Computer Corporation.

Paul Tsien is a senior product manager in the Oracle Cluster and Parallel Storage Development group. He also manages a number of Oracle technology programs including the Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) Certification and Data Integrity Initiative. His extensive product management and product marketing experience includes database clustering, high availability, servers and storage systems.
